Quotes from Caleb Bowen, Marshall’s assistant cross-country coach

“Today has been a great experience for our athletes to face some really good quality teams with Virginia Tech and Radford. We are thankful that the rain is gone and that we were able to participate in our meet.

Early competitions like this are so important for athlete development. This time of year training is focused on high volume and longer reps to prepare for the longer races of the championship season. But these short races are perfect for working on speed and helping us get to where we need to be in October.

I think overall we could have run better today, but we got what we needed from the competition and we’re delighted to have the UVAs here in a few weeks. “
